Rpghistory.net is a passion project that arose out of my interest in roleplaying games since my middle school years in the late 1970s. As corporate IPs get bigger and more profitable, as countless flashy influencers jump on the bandwagon, and as the hobby drifts further and further from its roots in the mainstream channels, I wanted to create a place where the old ways could be celebrated and their "first principles" better understood.

In short, I want help people rekindle the magic of the early days of D&D and give them new ways to appreciate their lifelong hobby.

Every Thursday at 3:00PM ET, I will be posting for members a new 20-minute episode of HD interview footage with a person of historical significance in the gaming space. I plan to gradually increase the publishing schedule and will soon be adding a community page where members can enjoy focused discussion about old-school games. The episodes are all viewable on this site, which features the same streaming technology used by Netflix and YouTube. We plan to build an app for easier mobile access and eventually make the videos viewable on TV platforms like Roku and Apple TV.
